These tanks are used in hot water applications in domestic systems that contain a backflow preventer or as an add-on to direct or indirect water heaters.  The tank absorbs excess water resulting from the heating process which keeps the system’s pressure lower than the relief valve settings.  A heavy duty butyl diaphragm allows for a permanent separation of water from the air cushion and tanks come in sizes 2 - 21 gallons. The plastic liner and stainless connection is effective against corrosion so that the unit can be safely used domestic hot water systems.
